Vail Holidays is the perfect place for family celebration this holiday season, as the town and mountain come alive with lights, sounds, events and cheer during the month of December.

Embrace the holidays with the annual tree lighting ceremony and lantern walk. On New Year’s Eve torchlight ski down and fireworks, ring in the New Year Vail style with the Torchlight Parade, followed by fireworks at Golden Peak. Watch as ski instructors and Vail locals form a train as they ski down Golden Peak with glowing sticks followed by a fireworks display. Holidays is free and open to the public.

On select Friday evenings (Jan. 4 and 18, Feb. 15, and March 8) in Vail Village, guests are invited to watch skiers dressed in traditional 10th Mountain Division Ski Trooper uniforms perform a Torchlight Ski Down to the base of Gondola One, followed by a parade of military veterans, also in traditional uniform, marching from Gondola One down Bridge Street, across the Covered Bridge and finishing at the 10th Mountain statue. The side of Vail Mountain will be illuminated with the 10th Mountain Division logo, and the celebration will feature a film on the history and legacy of Vail projected at the base of Gondola One and animated with fireworks. Vail’s newly-renovated Colorado Snowsports Museum will stay open after the parade for guests to visit and learn about Colorado’s ski history through the new 10th Mountain Division exhibit-- the most comprehensive of its kind in the world--and a showing of the film "Climb to Glory."

Burton US Open

The 2019 Burton US Open Snowboarding Championships return to Vail Mountain, bringing with them the best snowboarders in the world competing to win the most prestigious Halfpipe and Slopestyle titles in snowboarding. Olympic Medalists such as Mark McMorris, Kelly Clark, Aymu Hirano, Jamie Anderson and many more will battle it out to make snowboarding history in 2019. The action continues off the snow from Wednesday onwards with an epic sponsor village, nightly concerts in Vail Village, and The US Open of Broomball Tournament at Solaris Ice Rink. The 37th Annual Burton US Open Snowboarding Championships return to Vail, Colorado February 25 - March 2, 2019. As the premier event of the competitive snowboarding season, the US Open is positioned to showcase the most progressive riding from the world’s top pros in both slopestyle and halfpipe. In addition, the celebrated Burton US Open Halfpipe Junior Jam features top ams competing for a chance to ride alongside the pros. 

The US Open also offers a packed entertainment schedule including four nights of free musical performances, daily après, late night shows with special guests at Shakedown, the annual Chill fundraiser, a kids learn-to-ride Riglet park, Burton Girls Ride Days and gatherings as well as the closing party at the Dobson Ice arena.

Learn more here. Enjoy all-day live music, deck parties, costume contest, Celebration Ski Down, kid’s zone, food and prizes. All ages and abilities are welcome and you don’t even have to ski to participate! Funds raised benefit patient care and survivorship programs at Shaw Cancer Center. Pink Vail headquarters will be located at the base of Vail Mountain at Golden Peak. This will allow easy access for our skiers and nonskiers alike! Family friendly themed deck parties, all-day live music, kids tent, costume contest, prizes, Superstar events, great skiing and an incredible setting will once again bring thousands of fun-loving, pink participants together on Vail Mountain. Pink Vail proceeds benefit all patients at Shaw Cancer Center through enhancements to patient care and by funding our Spirit of Survival program, providing all patients the opportunity to receive free exercise training, nutrition coaching, emotional support, massages, acupuncture, outdoor adventures and much more. These unique services can dramatically impact a patient’s quality of life, but are not typically covered by insurance.

This Spring and Fall will kick off the Vail – Beaver Creek Restaurant Weeks! With participating restaurants spanning across two neighboring World Class Mountain Resorts, Vail and Beaver Creek, this culinary celebration takes dining to new heights, literally! The events will feature a wide variety of prix fixe menus and specials all starting at $20.19 and all showcasing the incredible and diverse culinary offerings available throughout the Vail and Beaver Creek Villages. To further enhance each guest’s dining experience, each bite will be perfectly paired with spectacular spring and autumn views spread across the stunning mountain backdrops provided by Vail and Beaver Creek.

$20.19 Vail Beaver Creek Restaurant Week dates have been set. The event will once again span throughout Vail and Beaver Creek Villages and feature a wide variety of specials all starting at $20.19.

We hope to once again fill both Vail and Beaver Creek villages with such diverse and distinguished $20.19 specials this spring and fall.  Stay tuned for information on participating locations, specials and more. We can't wait to see what 2019 brings!
