The South Valley stretches south of Steamboat Springs and encompasses Highway 131’s surrounding areas, including Country Green, Steamboat Pines, Big Valley Ranch, Catamount Ranch, Lake Catamount, Priest Creek Ranch and Alpine Mountain Ranch. Most properties in the South Valley are single-family homes on acreage. There are several properties that sit on large acreage or are in land preservation subdivisions. The South Valley has a country feel, but is conveniently located just a short drive from town, and many of the properties in this area offer stunning views of the Steamboat Ski Area.

Bountiful and picturesque, the South Valley boasts high-end developments with low-density living. The area has two golf courses; Catamount (private), and Haymaker (public). Many of the ranches in this Valley are under conservation easement and are protected from any future development. Overall, the South Valley offers large lots, expansive common areas and panoramic views of the ski mountain and the meanders of the Yampa River.
